Position: Field Service UPS Engineer

Rate/Salary: £45,000 OTE (55-60k)

HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Maritime Shipping, Energy, and Subsea sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Install, commission, service, and maintain UPS systems, batteries, and other critical power equipment in various environments, including data centres, hospitals, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
  2. Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  3. Service, test, and repair UPS, batteries, switchgear, and controls.
  4. Perform site surveys, load bank testing, and inspections.
  5. Respond to breakdowns and diagnose faults.
  6. Supervise and train electricians, apprentices, and junior engineers.
  7. Complete reports, action lists, and service records accurately.
  8. Participate in the on-call rota and work flexible hours as needed.
  9. Support internal teams and provide technical guidance.
  10. Identify sales opportunities and report leads.
  11. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  12. Conduct electrical testing and risk assessments.
  13. Attend training to maintain and enhance technical expertise.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Experience in servicing, maintaining, and fault diagnostics on Generators and other critical power equipment.
  2. An engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or similar).
  3. Full UK driving license.
