Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and service energy storage equipment at customer sites, performing preventive maintenance on flooded and sealed batteries, chargers, and DC power distribution gear. You will travel to locations, interact with customers, and document performance data to prevent future issues.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, strong reading comprehension of technical procedures, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: One to two years’ industry related experience; or equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and write, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must complete Enersys Canada Inc. Service Representative Training Course within 6 to 12 months. Must complete forklift training.
• Driving Ability: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; must be at least 25 to drive a company vehicle.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Team player. Excellent organizational skills. Highly professional.
• TRAVEL REQUIRED: Overnight travel will be necessary.
• Work Environment: Exposure to fumes/ chemicals; safety precautions required.

Responsibilities

• Travels to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer’s equipment including install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Interacts with all levels of people inside and outside the company.
• Develops and conducts training on safe operations and demonstrates skills to trainees.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance inspections of batteries, chargers, and related equipment.
• Replaces defective parts and repairs equipment.
• Diagnoses and repairs battery charging equipment.
• Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
• Coordinates problem resolution with technical support, service, sales, and other personnel.
• Provides on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Maintains records of performance reports.
