Job summary

Rednal Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer on behalf of our client to service Battery Chargers and related battery packs at commercial and industrial sites across the UK. You will organise and complete visits, install and commissioning, repair equipment and identify sales opportunities for Head Office.

Candidates with electrical/electronic fault finding, knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition and experience with batteries and UPS will be considered.

Qualifications

• Electrical/electronic fault finding experience.
• BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regs knowledge.
• Understanding of SLA, NiCD and Plante batteries.
• Experience with DNOs, UKPN, National Grid or London Underground is beneficial.
• Experience with battery chargers, UPS or backup power systems is beneficial.
• UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK are essential.
• Substations access experience and CSCS beneficial.

Job description

Our client supplies, installs and services a range of industrial Battery Chargers, and related products, for industrial Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a nationwide team responsible for servicing Battery Chargers and their related Battery Packs at commercial/industrial locations.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• To organise & complete service visits according to manufacturers recommendations.
• To position, install and commission equipment at customer sites.
• To repair equipment.
• To advise Head Office of any sales opportunities identified during the course of duties.
• To promote the company and act in a professional and diplomatic manner at all times.
• To adhere to quality standards at all times.
• Survey new and existing sites for installation purposes
• Feedback quality issues to the office
• Provide Technical Support to colleagues and customers as required.

Any of the following experience and qualifications would be beneficial although training will be given:

• Electrical/Electronic fault finding
• Electromechanical Installation e.g. BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regs
• Understanding of SLA, NiCD and Plante batteries
• Experience working with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), UKPN, National Grid or London Underground would be beneficial
• Experience with Battery chargers, UPS, Backup power systems/supply, emergency lighting beneficial
• Substations access experience eg. UKPN, National Grid, Western Power, Southern and Scottish power, Electrical Authorised person and CSCS all beneficial
• UK Driving License and eligibility to work in UK are essential
