£37,423 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card
Are you an experienced engineer who enjoys working with your customers to solve engineering problems? Do you have the engineering and commercial know-how to effectively represent a global leading brand? If so, you should continue reading...
You will be joining an organisation synonymous with engineering excellence, developing leading power generation technology solutions for customers in the marine, construction, agricultural, rail, and defence sectors (among others). A genuine leader in their field, this company provides comprehensive training for engineers to reflect the developing and emerging technology in its product range. Customer relationships are key; hence, the Service Engineer we are looking for will have a clear track record of delivering added value services in client-facing roles.
You will be experienced in both the mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and/or propulsion systems and associated electrical control technology, including ECUs (Electronic Control Units). Qualified to NVQ3 as a minimum, you will have demonstrable experience of fault diagnostics, remote diagnostics, and conditioning.
Working in customer locations that are highly safety-critical environments, you will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including medicals, drug, and alcohol screens.
Due to the nature of the role, we welcome applications from ex-forces personnel, such as RAF, Royal Navy, or British Army, or experienced engineers within Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV, or Bus sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity to move your career towards the Rail sector!
As the Field Service Technician, you'll carry out fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines, download data, and utilize ECU (Electronic Control Unit) familiarity.
Fully product training will be provided as Service Engineers are responsible for ensuring performance and availability of diesel engines in rolling stock. While hands-on work is involved, the core of this role is remote diagnostics—evaluating and interpreting data to identify likely faults before physically inspecting the engine. This involves intermediate fault-finding and fault resolution through effective condition monitoring.
Basic salary of £37,423 per annum. As this is a field-based role, you'll also be provided with a work van, fuel card, laptop, mobile, 40 hours a week, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, an attractive pension scheme with a 9% employer contribution plus your own, private medical cover, and other standard company benefits.
If you are passionate about providing exceptional customer service within a Rail Service Engineer role and can offer the knowledge and flexibility required, get in touch for an immediate interview!
