An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Technician to join a globally recognised leader in the oil and gas technology industry. This role involves supporting the maintenance and servicing of mechanical systems on customer sites across the UK. When you're not on the road, you'll be based in their north Manchester hub, supporting workshop tasks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of equipment such as pumps, rotating machinery, vacuum, and pressure systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage tasks independently.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of equipment such as pumps, rotating machinery, vacuum, and pressure systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage tasks independently.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site maintenance and workshop support for mechanical systems
  • Prepare and approve work packs for service activities
  • Carry out mechanical completion checks, factory acceptance tests, electrical loop/function checks, and pressure/leak testing
  • Compile detailed technical reports on customer equipment
  • Deliver aftersales support including inspections, spare part identification, and technical advice
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and engineering departments
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools
  • Travel regularly to customer sites as required

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (e.g., C&G, ONC, HNC)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems
  • Understanding of industry standards and wastewater procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
