Job description

PE Global is recruiting a field service technician for our oil and gas client on a permanent basis based in the Manchester area. The salary for this role is £35,000 per year with a £50/day per diem.

Important:

- Role requires travel at short notice and can be for extended periods (UK & overseas). Per Diem £50/day.

- Role Requires Completed apprenticeship – CSCS card to be held or able to be obtained.

- Preferably HGV/Heavy Plant Engineering.

- Will be working on sewage /industrial systems.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site support for service maintenance and workshop tasks. *This means travel at short notice and can be for extended periods Prepare and approve work packs for service team activities. Perform mechanical completion checks, factory acceptance tests, electrical function/loop checks, and leak/pressure testing. Compile detailed technical reports on customer equipment. Deliver aftersales support, including inspections, spare part identification, and technical advice. Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations. Work closely with internal stakeholders and engineering teams. Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools. Travel daily to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (C&G, ONC, HNC). This is to be a completed apprenticeship – CSCS card to be held or able to obtain. Preferably HGV/Heavy Plant Engineering. Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation. Experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems. Understanding of industry standards and wastewater procedures. Will be working on sewage /industrial systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
