Overview

Field Service Technician

Salary: £28,730 pa

Requirements for Birmingham centres

Hours: 8.00am-5.00pm, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities
  • Servicing and repairing Powered & Manual wheelchairs in the field with the aim of achieving a first time fix whenever possible.
  • Delivering and collecting wheelchairs to and from service users' homes and NHS departments, ensuring that the Company Infection Control Policy is followed.
  • Read and complete all paperwork relating to each job with the necessary information regarding parts used and actions taken written onto the job card to enable the administration team to update the database accurately.
  • Use PPE supplied for duties as instructed.
  • Upon completion of initial training, undertake out of hours responsibility when rostered.
  • Observe regulations covering the driving and use of the Company vehicle on the public highway and be aware of employee responsibility under the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Keep the vehicle tidy and ensure stocks of all necessary parts are replenished each day.
  • Complete vehicle safety checks and the van check sheet each week.
  • Maintain a professional customer service attitude, wear your uniform and identification badge, and keep the uniform clean and laundered.
  • Prioritise and organise workload and refer to the Line Manager as appropriate.
  • Maintain and safely store all tools and equipment provided by the Company as outlined in the Company handbook.
  • Agree to undertake all training offered to maintain the skills required for this role.
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Successful enhanced DBS check, company paid for
  • Able to move and handle loads and equipment safely
  • Experience of face-to-face customer contact preferred
  • An awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and environment changes
  • Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
  • Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to relay clear instructions to clients
  • Basic computer skills for diagnostic purposes
