Job summary

Ride On Entertainment is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain children's rides across South East London, Essex and Kent. You will travel in a company van, perform routine maintenance, check safety and service rides at retail locations and shopping centres.

The role offers independence with planned routes, early start and finish, and a permanent position with over 20 years of experience in the market.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining, servicing or repairing equipment.
• Confidence using hand tools and investigating minor faults.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to follow a planned route and work independently.
• Reliable approach to early starts, customer service and safe working.
• Ability to load, unload and move equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Visit three to four locations each day following a planned route.
• Check the condition, security and operation of each ride.
• Investigate minor faults and complete repairs within your capability.
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance and clean rides.
• Assist with installing, relocating and removing equipment, including loading/unloading the van.
• Communicate professionally with retail site teams.

Field Service Technician

Children's Rides and Equipment Maintenance

Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 depending on experience
Location: Covering South East London, Essex and Kent
Contract: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week
Typical hours: Start between 5am and 6am, usually finishing between 2pm and 3pm

Take the company van home and start your daily route from there. This practical maintenance role offers independence, planned site visits and usually an early finish.

Ride On Entertainment is looking for someone with equipment maintenance or repair experience to look after children's rides at shopping centres and retail locations.

Your background could be in vending machines, amusement equipment, facilities maintenance or other equipment servicing. Experience with children's rides is not required. Confidence using tools, investigating faults and carrying out minor equipment repairs is essential.

What you'll receive

• £30,000 to £33,000 depending on experience
• Company Luton van to take home
• Early finishes, usually between 2pm and 3pm
• 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, managed on a rota basis

What your day will involve

Following a planned route, you'll usually visit three to four locations each day, keeping rides safe, working properly and well presented.

You'll:

• Check the condition, security and operation of each ride
• Investigate minor faults, complete repairs within your capability and report issues needing further attention
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance
• Clean rides as a regular part of each visit
• Help install, relocate and remove equipment, including loading and unloading the van
• Communicate professionally with retail site teams

This practical role combines equipment maintenance, regular cleaning and daily driving. You'll also load, unload and move equipment when required.
