Job description

Field Service Supervisor

Salary - GBP34,981.40 OTE earnings (overtime and bonus GBP45,000.00)

Purpose of the Role

Field Service Supervisors serve as first-line managers for Field Service Engineers and are supported by the National Operations Manager. They work closely with the Operations Centre Manager and the Operations Director to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality service.


As regional leaders, Field Service Supervisors are expected to set the standard and consistently strive to exceed performance expectations across all operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor service engineers and address technical inquiries from Sales and Engineering teams.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for customer queries, including on-site and customer engagement.
  • Uphold and enforce Health and Safety standards within the service engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Support, guide, and train Field Service Engineers in line with company protocols.
  • Complete all reasonable requests from the Operational Leadership team promptly and to a high standard.

Technical Skills

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in the use of electrical and hydraulic testing tools and equipment.
  • Share technical knowledge to support team development.
  • Apply sound engineering practices and standards.
  • Deliver training functions in alignment with business needs.

Standards & Operational Expectations

  • Follow all guidelines in the Field Service Engineers Workbook.
  • Use company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain responsibility for stock, including its safe-keeping and accurate usage tracking.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely submission to the office.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Always Comply with company and customer Health and Safety policies.
  • Follow all Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Use appropriate tools and safety equipment for each task.
  • Keep work and vehicle environments clean and safe.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly.
  • Support investigations and promote improvements in safety.
