Field Service Sales Engineer

Salary: £45k-£55k with commission to be discussed
Location: Reading
Hours: Monday–Friday, Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Permanent



Our market leading client is seeking a proactive Plant Engineer to help grow and further enhance customer service and equipment. This role would suit an experienced Engineer who has the knowledge to conduct on-site

visits and assess plant condition, identify required parts and services and support maintenance planning. This will help grow revenue, improve turnaround times and customer relationships.

Field Service Sales Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Carry out on site health checks of customer equipment to assess condition and wear
  • Identify and recommend parts or maintenance actions to improve reliability
  • Prepare and submit reports and findings
  • Liaise with engineering and sales team to review internal drawings, documentation and confirm correct parts
  • Prepare and issue quotes for parts and service
  • Provide market information and support
  • Build strong relationships and identify further business opportunities
  • Be a key focal point for customers
  • Travel throughout the UK at least 3 days per week
  • Support the development and commercial offering for service contracts


Desirable Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of plant equipment
  • Good understanding of plant diagnostics, wear and maintenance
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, service manuals and parts
  • Excellent customer facing and communication skills
  • Experience of using CRM
  • Ability to carry out service work on site if required
