Job Description:

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Field Service Engineer to perform PPM, installation, service, and breakdown repair on waste recycling machinery across Yorkshire. Our client, a leader in recycling machinery design, manufacture, and service, is looking for an experienced engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Service Manager, your responsibilities will include installing, servicing, and repairing waste compactors and baling systems at customer sites. The role is home-based, with a standard 39-hour week, extensive paid overtime, and full product training provided. A vehicle, specialist tools, and basic hand tools are supplied. Occasional overnight stays are required, and candidates should hold (or be able to obtain) CSCS certification and Enhanced DBS clearance.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Complete servicing of waste handling systems, including fault diagnosis and repair, and perform PPM maintenance.
  2. Install new equipment and deliver training to customers and operators, as well as decommission machines when needed.
  3. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, support fellow engineers, and document visits with reports and photos via tablet.
  4. Carry out LOLER inspections on lifting equipment.
  5. Document breakdown and service visits accurately using tablet devices.
  6. Perform hydraulic repairs, welding, and minor fabrication as needed.
  7. Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience working with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, with knowledge of Siemens S7/LOGO systems being advantageous. Experience with waste compactors and balers is desirable. A full clean UK driving license, relevant engineering qualifications (C&G, HNC, or higher), and ideally 18th Edition Electrical qualifications are required.
