Job description

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a well-established, expanding material handling company looking to recruit a new field-based forklift service engineer to service their client base across the South Coast and West London areas. With a competitive salary & overtime opportunity plus numerous other benefits, this is a great opportunity for an experienced forklift engineer or an individual from another background interested in a new role.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing a client base across the South Coast and West London areas with a focus on servicing a fleet of forklift trucks
  • Reporting to the Service Manager to ensure all equipment servicing is carried out efficiently
  • Working alongside the rest of the engineering team to maintain a high level of customer service
  • Developing a knowledge of the company’s customer base and representing the company in the right manner when attending customer site
  • Attending the workshop from time to time and occasionally working on call

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have a strong background in engineering within the Material Handling industry, but this is not essential. They would also be open to candidates with backgrounds in Agriculture, Construction, Commercial Vehicles or Automotive. The company have a preference for candidates that have a strong understanding of hydraulics and are able to work well on their own initiative. In terms of location, you will be based in either theSouth Coast or West London areassince the customers are based in this region with some requirements further afield.
