Job description

Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge inverter technology, renowned for their strong presence in the UK solar market. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support maintenance and commissioning of large-scale solar assets.

The Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £45,000, company van, bonus and door-to-door overtime and the opportunity to work with and acquire further training in specialised technology.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Service Team Leader you will:

  1. Provide top-quality field service for commercial and utility-scale solar projects across the UK.
  2. Service, repair, maintain, and inspect a wide range of solar equipment and systems.
  3. Commission, inspect, and repair PV systems installed by leading EPCs.
  4. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with string and central inverters, as well as other technologies.
  5. Handle incoming customer queries, troubleshooting error messages, and providing technical support.
Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Level 3 electrical qualification as a minimum.
  2. 18th edition wiring regulations.
  3. Previous commercial/industrial maintenance experience.
  4. Experience working with commercial/large-scale solar would be highly advantageous.
  5. UK Driving license and flexibility to travel as required.
Personal Skills

The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:

  1. Willing and flexible to travel with some overnight stays and attend training in Europe when required.
  2. Has very good English language skills; second language skills would be an asset.
