Qualifications

  • Time served apprentice or equivalent with relevant academic qualifications.
  • Desire to work towards flexi-skilling for electrical and instrumental technical accreditation.
  • Experience with diagnostics and maintenance of electrical systems is a must.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for Electrical/ Instrumentation (E/I) maintenance and technical support to the Waste Water Network team to repair and maintain Waste Water Network assets.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

As the role can require lone working you will need to be comfortable working alone or as part of a team. The role will also include working in confined spaces as well as the opportunity to provide input into capital and operational projects to ensure assets fully meet operational and maintenance requirements. Participation in an out of hour's standby rota is also a requirement. Your duties will include the following:

  • Implementing an efficient Electrical / Instrumentation (E/I) maintenance and installation service.
  • Analysing faults, rectifying and ensuring correct operation of Electrical, Instrumentation and systems-based equipment.
  • Performing planned and proactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and internal company policies
  • Maintaining required financial control of a pre-defined budgets.
  • Providing reliable, accurate and complete asset performance and repair information.
  • Analysing and recommending solutions to recurring maintenance problems.
  • Ensuring that throughout your career the required skills, competence and recency in all relevant subject matter are maintained
Technical Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A valid driving licence
  • The ability to work in a team but also alone, be resilient, self-motivated, with strong problem solving skills and possess the required technical competence
  • Able and willing to diversify into specialised areas of maintenance, as required, such as but not limited to chlorine gas systems and high voltage installations
  • Diagnostic, organisational, planning, communication and computer skills
  • Industry Experience
  • Experience of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems and associated networks to perform fault diagnostics, assist with disaster recovery and small system modifications
  • Where appropriate, possess a sound working knowledge of Simocode, Profibus and similar industrial technology systems

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you must be a time served apprentice or equivalent, supported with academic qualifications ideally to HNC or minimum ONC equivalent in an Electrical technical area anda desire to work towards flexi skilling leading to an accredited qualification or standard in an Instrumental technical area is also required. Once completed there will be a salary uplift to reflect this Flexi Skill.
