Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Service Engineer to cover the Somerset region, performing maintenance and repairs on pumping systems and related equipment. The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the area.

You will diagnose faults, carry out planned and reactive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across Veolia sites. The position offers a competitive salary and Veolia benefits.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification is required.
• Experience installing, maintaining and repairing pumps, pipework, valves and mechanical plants.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with repair experience.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance in an industrial/utilities environment.
• Willingness to travel across the region and hold a UK driving licence; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across Veolia sites.
• Install, maintain, repair and replace pumps, valves, pipework and related mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete effective repairs on mechanical plant and pumping systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts, restoring operation quickly and safely.
• Complete pipework installations, modifications and leak rectification; inspect and commission work.
• Maintain records, complete PPM schedules and report on outstanding work and improvements.
