Field Service Engineer & Product Support Specialist Location: Central Belt, Scotland (Field/Home-Based)
Salary: £43,500 + Bonus | Company Vehicle | Overtime | Pension | Professional Development
Are you a skilled engineer ready to take the next step into a more customer-facing, strategic role? We’re looking for a proactive and technically strong Field Service Engineer & Product Support Specialist to join a market-leading manufacturer of high-performance construction equipment.
This hybrid role offers the perfect balance of hands-on fieldwork and technical support, ideal for someone who thrives on variety, autonomy, and problem-solving.
What You'll Be Doing: Field Service (60%)
  • Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy plant and road construction machinery
  • Support national key accounts and dealer locations across Glasgow and Inverness
  • Assist with machine handovers, commissioning, and breakdowns
  • Provide technical help to customer workshops and resolve complex issues
  • Deliver outstanding service to ensure long-term customer satisfaction
Product Support (40%)
  • Provide technical support via phone, email, and in person
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and dealers
  • Support product launches and software upgrades
  • Evaluate warranty claims and contribute to technical reporting
  • Act as the link between field feedback and engineering teams
  • Create service bulletins and technical guides
What We're Looking For:
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Plant, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 3–5 years' experience working with heavy plant or construction equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills (mechanical and electrical)
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Confident communicator who’s comfortable delivering training and working directly with clients
  • Commercially aware and able to represent the brand professionally
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
