Field Service Engineer – Portable Power Solutions

Our client is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with proven expertise in generators, portable power equipment, and associated mechanical and electrical systems. Responsibilities
  • Covering part of the South and South West client base. Service and maintain portable air compressors, energy storage systems, generators, pumps, lighting towers, and handheld tools.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Carry out commissioning, pre-delivery inspections, and upgrades.
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service – every time.
  • Work closely with the service team to plan and organise your workload.
  • Promote the company brand with professionalism and pride.
  • This role involves daily travel within the region and may occasionally require overnight stays – fully supported by attractive overtime allowances.
About You / Qualifications
  • You’ll be an experienced field service engineer with a balanced skill set in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Experience gained in power distribution systems within the construction sector, maritime environment, or military service would be particularly well-suited to this position.
  • Proven experience working on generators, portable compressors, energy storage, pumps, or similar equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills.
  • A good working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and digital (Microsoft 365 proficiency is a plus).
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a mechanical or electrical discipline – highly advantageous.
  • A full clean UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
