Field Service Engineer

Region covered: North East UK

Position summary

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining professional and profitable repair and preventive maintenance services on Stryker’s products, ensuring compliance with quality systems and manufacturer specifications. The role involves delivering technical assistance at customer sites and providing documentation to internal and external stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Repair and check electronic and mechanical Stryker products.
  • Complete annual checks and calibrations according to MDR standards on customer sites.
  • Utilize software and technological tools for record-keeping and accessing technical information.
  • Assist with product recalls, field safety notices, and field action notices in collaboration with the regulatory affairs department and customers.
  • Perform scheduled service contracts and planned maintenance.
  • Deliver technical training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Install Stryker systems at customer sites.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of service activities for internal and external reference.
  • Ensure traceability of all field-based Stryker products through reporting tools.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Escalate opportunities and issues during team meetings.
  • Follow up diligently on customer-initiated issues.
  • Invoice for services not under warranty.
  • Coordinate scheduling of customer visits with customer service.

What you need

  • Degree-level education in engineering, medical electronics, camera technology, or relevant experience in:
  • Electrical, electronic, telecommunications, mechanical, or software fields.
  • Medical physics or related technology subjects.
  • Proficiency in IT tools (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, MFG/Pro, PS3, Outlook).
  • Up to 1 year experience in medical electronics with strong mechanical skills.
  • Experience in hospital and healthcare environments is advantageous.
  • IT experience at an administrative and technical level.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers to foster brand loyalty.
