Job description

Field Service Engineer - Maritime / NavCom

Portsmouth base with travel - UK and International

Package - Base around GBP35,000 + along with overtime / annual bonus / pension matched to 7.5% / healthcare.

We're looking for a maritime bias field service engineer, to work for this global technology provider. They are a systems integrator and network operator, and the field service engineer will be working in the maritime division, so the remit will be to install, repair and commission a range of equipment from a range of leading manufacturers.

That maritime / NavCom background is going to be needed on this role, but specific manufacturer training will be provided on an ongoing basis. Vessels will be shore based and can range from oil tankers, cruise ships through to yachts.

The role will be varied, so you'll be doing I&C alongside maintenance on kit ranging from VSAT, GMDSS and general navigational. This is alongside conducting VDR-APT's.

Technical / educational background:

In depth knowledge of electronic / electrical engineering networks and ideally, that would be around the maritime sector. Military technician background would definitely be of interest and you'd also need a flexible attitude to travel.

The role doesn't have to involve a lot of travel and if you wanted to stay around Portsmouth and the South Coast area then that is OK, but a considerable amount of overtime and international travel will be available for engineers that are interested and that international travel is fully pre-booked and expensed by the company.

The role will require SC clearance so you would need a 5 year traceable work history in the UK.
