Overview

Field Service Engineer (M&E) – Aqua Tech Recruitment, Slough, Berkshire, SL1

£39,000 - £43,000 per annum + uncapped overtime & vehicle • Full time

Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, travel, and solving technical challenges? This role splits time between on-site visits across the UK and internationally, with an element of factory-based assembly and testing work. You will support our water treatment systems from commissioning and maintenance through to technical support and training.

What you'll be doing
  • Visit customer sites (UK & overseas) to commission, service, and troubleshoot our systems
  • Assemble and test our full range of equipment in the factory
  • Prepare clear site visit reports and documentation
  • Support customers with technical issues and training
  • Help out with packing, dispatch, and logistics when needed
  • Provide feedback to the engineering and production teams
  • Assist the sales and aftersales teams with technical queries
  • Maintain accurate records of work, materials, and stock shortages
What we're looking for
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Confident reading electrical control panel diagrams and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, PLCs, and inverters
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Comfortable working on-site, often alone, and representing the company professionally
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport
  • Willingness to travel frequently (Monday-Friday), with all expenses covered
Bonus skills (desirable but not essential)
  • Background in water treatment or steam plant systems
  • Experience planning and coordinating service workloads
  • Awareness of upselling or customer relationship-building techniques
