Job summary

Labman Automation Ltd in Jealott's Hill, Southeast England, is seeking a Support Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair laboratory automation systems. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical and software domains, with regular UK and international travel.

You will work directly with customers, provide remote and on-site support, and maintain clear service reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong practical electromechanical or mechanical engineering skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• Hands-on approach with engineering hand tools.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
• Good attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair Labman laboratory automation systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, upgrades and reactive fault-finding across mechanical, electrical and software issues.
• Provide hands-on and remote technical support, investigating problems and identifying effective long-term solutions.
• Test system performance and ensure equipment continues to meet Labman quality and safety standards.
• Build strong customer relationships and provide operator and basic maintenance training.
• Complete clear and accurate service reports, maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Work closely with our engineering teams, with regular travel to customer sites across the UK and internationally, as well as visits to Labman HQ and Liverpool.
