Field Service Engineer / Installation Engineer Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and customer focused Field Service Engineer / Installation Engineer interested in learning and developing a Vibration Monitoring System and Thermal Imaging program for Clients across the UK, to join our well established business. With our Head Office/Workshop located in Sittingbourne, we are looking for someone ideally located in the Sittingbourne, Sheppey, Rainham or Faversham area for ease when preparing equipment ready for the next day at our workshop.
This job covers a wide field of roles in the vibration monitoring sector, from manufacturing plants and pharmaceutical plants to construction, demolition, and piling sites at various locations across the UK.
What You'll Need To Succeed
You will have some experience in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, experience with rollers, bearings, pumps, and motors, and some basic electrical experience. Experience navigating construction sites for installing environmental monitoring equipment.

Field Service Engineer Job Duties
Collection of condition monitoring data from plant items and machinery, using techniques such as Vibration Monitoring and Thermal Imaging at Client sites around the UK.
Setup and implementation of condition monitoring programs with the support of existing staff.
The Field Service Engineer will be required to travel to customers on a daily basis, working on a broad range of sites from Food and Drinks Producers, Pharmaceutical companies, and Building Services companies to carry out vibration data collection surveys and thermal imaging surveys.
Download the data and carry out analysis to compile reports from the data collected and liaise with the client on the condition of equipment/plant on their sites.
Visit Demolition, Piling, and Construction Sites to install vibration, noise, and dust monitoring equipment (full training will be given). Re-visit sites to carry out routine inspections and change battery packs in the monitoring equipment to ensure optimal operation and liaise with the Site Managers.
Collaborate with the VMS Project Manager and Operations Manager on a regular basis regarding installation of vibration, noise, and dust monitoring systems and obtain accurate photographic and detailed records of the locations and surrounding areas.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and timely service.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- A strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, or other relevant engineering principles.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical role.
- Ability to use dedicated software programs out in the field using an iPad.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients.
- Sound ability to interpret and analyse data in a result orientated environment.
- The ability to work independently in various environments and adapt to changing situations.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work on your own initiative.
- Capability to deal with continuous changes and new technology.
- Ability to work at height.
- Valid Full UK Driver's License and willingness to travel as required.
The salary advertised is the bracket available for this position. The actual salary paid will be dependent on your level of experience, qualifications, and skill set.
