Job summary

GEA Group is seeking a field-based Service Engineer to support Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. You will maintain heavy commercial refrigeration equipment and assist in site visits to troubleshoot faults, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background, experience servicing machinery, and ideally City & Guilds 2078 (Ammonia). This role offers progression within a global company with strong safety standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background.
• Previous experience servicing and maintaining machinery.
• City & Guilds 2078 (Ammonia) preferred.
• Strong understanding of Industrial and Commercial Heating & Refrigeration systems.
• High standard of technical expertise across a variety of machinery and equipment.
• Proactive problem solver with a solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service heavy commercial refrigeration equipment and plant, including chilled water systems.
• Work on a small amount of air-conditioning equipment.
• Attend site visits to troubleshoot, rectify faults, and educate customers where necessary.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support and coaching to team apprentices.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Quality regulations and policies.
