Job summary

GEA Group Ltd is a leading world supplier of refrigeration systems for food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. This field-based Service Engineer role focuses on maintaining and servicing heavy commercial refrigeration equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in a service environment, IPAF certification, and City & Guilds F-Gas and Ammonia qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a service environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair refrigeration systems.
• Competent in basic electrical work.
• Experience installing a wide range of refrigeration components.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain heavy commercial refrigeration equipment and plant, including chilled water systems.
• Work on a small amount of air-conditioning equipment.
• Report directly to the Service Manager.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a strong customer-focused approach throughout all processes, ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
• Promote system improvements and modifications to customers to enhance operational performance.
• Provide technical support to apprentices and customers.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Quality regulations and policies.
• Attend site visits to troubleshoot, rectify faults, and educate customers where necessary.
