A leading recruitment agency seeks a Field Service Engineer in Colchester for servicing and maintaining specialist vehicles. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 with OTE up to £50,000, along with extensive benefits including training, career progression, and a supportive team environment.

Location: Colchester, Essex
Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 base salary (OTE GBP45,000 - GBP50,000)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 onwards + Company Vehicle/Fuel Card

Known for innovation and reliability, they are expanding their UK engineering team and seek experienced Mobile Plant Engineers.

The Package:
• Permanent, full-time role (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
• GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 base salary (OTE GBP45,000 - GBP50,000)

The Responsibilities:
• Attend customer sites for servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on specialist plant and municipal equipment
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections to ensure equipment reliability
• Provide technical advice and support to customers on equipment usage and maintenance
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Collaborate with the internal engineering team to enhance service delivery
The Requirements:
• Background in Plant, HGV, Automotive, or Agricultural engineering (essential)
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Experience with engines and fault-finding tools is advantageous
• Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds) are desirable
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential
• HGV licence preferred or willingness to obtain one (training support available)
• Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently in the field
