Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. This role involves responding to workshop garage equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and rectifying equipment issues to ensure customer compliance and productivity. You will travel to large-scale commercial and industrial vehicle workshops within your area, working on equipment such as car lifts, MOT testing equipment, air compressors, wheel alignment, tyre changers, wheel balancers, and other automotive equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and installations on garage equipment including vehicle lifts, wheel & tyre equipment, brake testers, gas analysers, and smoke testers.
  • Accurately complete and submit paperwork in line with quality systems.
  • Comply with health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Manage van stock to meet first-time fix targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop skills to maintain high work standards.
  • Be prepared for occasional overnight stays and overtime work as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and a good educational background.
  • Experience in a field service environment, working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical garage equipment.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions to standards.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues and customers.
  • Knowledge of the regional geography is advantageous.
  • Full clean UK driving license is essential.
