Job Title: Field Service Garage Equipment Engineer (Routine Maintenance)

Location: Field Based around Carlisle and throughout the surrounding area

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About the role:

As a home-based Field Service Engineer covering Carlisle, Kendal and the surrounding areas, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on a wide range of electro-mechanical garage equipment at customers' sites. This will include lifts and brake testers and previous experience of this type of equipment would be particularly useful.

Description of Duties:

  • To carry out routine maintenance on electro mechanical garage equipment
  • Also; calibrations, diagnostic/repair and installation on equipment including vehicle lifts, wheel & tyre, brake testers, gas analysers and smoke testers etc
  • Completion and submission of accurate paperwork
  • Compliance and adherence to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Ensuring control of your van stock to meet targets for first times fixes
  • The continued development of required skills to complete all work to a high standard

About you:

  • At least one year working on relevant equipment in a similar position
  • To have good working knowledge and experience of routine maintenance activities in a field service environment which should ideally include garage equipment or similar
  • Be able to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards and using initiative when required
  • Ability to be self motivated and to have a 'can do' attitude to deliver a high quality service to customers
  • Good communication skills - dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Demonstrable experience and / or relevant trade qualifications in a related electro/mechanical discipline
  • Able to work (paid) overtime when required, or to have occasional nights away from home (hotels and food etc provided)

  • Competitive salary - up to £40,000 per annum (depending on relevant knowledge and experience) plus opportunities for overtime (taking possible earnings up to £50,000)
