Interaction Recruitment is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to cover Croydon and the surrounding South London/Surrey region for a leading materials handling company. The role involves on-site service, maintenance and repair of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.

Excellent overtime, training and career progression are offered. The package includes a £37,000–£42,000 basic salary with overtime (OTE £50,000–£65,000+), a company van, fuel card and paid door-to-door travel.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Good hydraulic and electrical knowledge.
• Experience working on engines and mobile machinery.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults.
• Attend breakdowns and carry out reactive repairs.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Repair diesel, petrol, LPG and electric-powered equipment.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
• Manage your workload and territory efficiently.
• Deliver high levels of customer service.
• Build long-term relationships with customers through professionalism and technical expertise.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety legislation.

Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 Basic + Overtime (OTE £50,000 - £65,000+)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, 1.5 HOURS BREAK (40 Hours)

Engineers regularly increase their annual earnings through available overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate.

Based on a £37,000 Basic Salary

5 Hours Overtime Per Week @ 1.5x

• Approx. Additional Earnings: £6,500 per year
• Total Earnings: £43,500+

10 Hours Overtime Per Week @ 1.5x

• Approx. Additional Earnings: £13,000 per year
• Total Earnings: £50,000+

15 Hours Overtime Per Week @ 1.5x

• Approx. Additional Earnings: £19,500 per year
• Total Earnings: £56,500+

Based on a £42,000 Basic Salary

5 Hours Overtime Per Week @ 1.5x

• Approx. Additional Earnings: £7,400 per year
• Total Earnings: £49,400+

10 Hours Overtime Per Week @ 1.5x

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will work from home attending customer sites throughout your designated territory, carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
