Job description

Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer who has experience in a similar role servicing and/or repairing fire sprinkler systems, excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills and a good understanding of engines, motors and pumped systems is required for a well-established company based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, North West England.

SALARY: £33,150 - £41,990 per annum (£15.00 – £19.00 per hour) depending on experience + Company Van + Generous Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Various sites across the North West of England which will include extensive travel. Overnight stays may be required, between 1-2 nights per week – company van provided

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 42.5 hours per week, 9 hours Monday to Thursday and 6.5 hours on Fridays

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will need a full current driving license

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Fire Sprinkler Service Engineerwho has experience in a similar role servicing and/or repairing fire sprinkler systems, excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills and a good understanding of engines, motors and pumped systems.

Working as a Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer you will join an expanding Service and Maintenance team located in the North West.

As the Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer your role will involve conducting weekly fire sprinkler system tests and assisting senior engineers with repairs and fault-finding. While training will be provided for carrying out checks and flow tests on fire pumps, a good awareness of health and safety is essential.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer include:

  • Carry out weekly tests on fire sprinkler systems
  • Carry out system inspections, system repairs, and provide an emergency response if required
  • Assisting higher grade engineers in carrying out repairs and fault finding on fire sprinkler systems
  • Carrying out checks and flow tests on fire pumps (training will be given)
  • Work using a good awareness of health and safety
  • Ensuring effective communication with the wider business
  • Traveling to different locations to perform checks and maintenance on fire safety systems

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Driving: A full, valid drivers license
  • Technical Skills: Good understanding of commercial sprinkler system, Engines, Motors and Pumped systems is required
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform inspections and manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to detect and report issues promptly and accurately
  • Understand fire panels and isolations
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility and a 'one team’ approach
  • This role may require working in challenging or high-pressure situations, particularly during emergencies
