Job Description:

Our client is a leading supplier of CNC machinery. Due to their continued success, Staffbase has been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of CNC machinery throughout the UK.

The Role:

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of machinery including CNC routers, cutting, and bending machinery. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Mechanical maintenance activities such as removing and replacing broken or worn components like chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.
• Fault finding and repair work on hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Electrical maintenance including fault finding and repair on 3-phase motors, servos, and 24V circuits (reading electrical schematics/drawings is essential).
• Assisting with machine installation and commissioning.

Candidate:

We seek applicants with strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills. Ideally, you will have at least three years of maintenance experience, with excellent knowledge of CNC machinery.

You should be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with strong 3-phase electrical fault-finding and repair skills, and competent in PLC fault diagnosis and repair. This is a field engineer role, and you should be willing to stay away from home for up to 3-4 nights per week if required.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday (days), 40-hour week plus overtime.
