Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer within the National Service Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality field-based technical expertise at customers' sites across the country. Your duties include installation, calibration, fault finding, training, and fixing customer equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs, on-site commissioning, service, and calibration of customer's inline inspection equipment according to processes and procedures, including providing on-site customer training where required.
- Perform upgrades and refurbishments on customer sites.
- Handle on-site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.
- Adapt to various environments and comply with local health and safety regulations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly in accordance with company procedures.
- Work overtime as required and participate in an on-call standby rota system.
- Continuously improve product knowledge through learning diverse products.
- Provide technical support via phone and email as needed.
Requirements
- Good technical electrical/electronics skills.
- Minimum BTEC/ONC/HNC or similar qualification in electromechanical/electrical engineering.
- Experience in a field service role, including commissioning, repairs, and servicing, is preferred.
- PLC programming knowledge and familiarity with PC hardware are advantageous.
- Good PC literacy and organizational skills.
- Methodical problem-solving approach.
- Full current driving license.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and stay overnight occasionally.
