Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Hydraulic, Mechanical Systems)

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire

Salary: GBP 33,000 - GBP 35,000 base salary (OTE GBP 42,000 - GBP 60,000 pa)

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30 + Door to Door Paid

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The client:

Interaction has partnered with a rapidly expanding, rewarding, and innovative organization based in the Suffolk area to support the growth of their engineering team. Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a skilled electromechanical engineer interested in learning, developing, and progressing within the industrial cleaning machinery sector.

The package:

• 28 days annual leave including bank holidays + 1 additional day per year up to 25 days + Bank
• Laptop, Company Vehicle, Fuel Card, Company Credit Card

• Occasional overnight stays (Paid allowances, food & drink)
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate before 16:30, and 2x after; Saturday first four hours paid at 1.5x, additional hours at 2x; Sundays & Public Holidays at 2x rate
• Operate within a 1.5-hour radius with door-to-door paid
• Opportunity for training & progression to a senior role

The Duties:

Attend breakdowns, service, and PPMs on industrial-scale compactor systems within the waste management industry.

Use manual hand tools (spanners, screwdrivers), electrical hand tools (powered drills, grinders), lifting equipment (slings, hoists), and hot working tools (blowtorch, heat guns).

Perform electrical, electronic, mechanical fault finding, including hydraulic systems.

Manage your time effectively to ensure high standards of work are met in a timely manner.

Update job reports and order parts when necessary.

Follow Health & Safety Procedures.

The Requirements:

• Experience in electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair, and service is advantageous.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding is advantageous but not essential.
• Good electrical or mechanical knowledge; roles could include plant engineer, maintenance engineer, hydraulic engineer, pneumatic engineer, mechanical fitter, forklift engineer.
• Experience using electrical & mechanical tools.
• Previous experience as a mechanical, electrical, or field-based engineer, especially with hydraulic systems/hoses, fault finding, and repair, along with basic electrical work.

Full UK Drivers License required.
