Job description

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the Cordella System, focusing on installation, technical support, and system optimization at clinical sites and patient homes. This role provides critical technical expertise and ensures high performance of the Cordella System by leading system installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The Field Service Engineer will serve as a key technical resource, ensuring successful system implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in system performance and user experience.

How you'll make an impact:

1. System Installation and Configuration

  • Lead the on-site installation of the Cordella system in hospitals, verification of product performance in catheterization labs, and patient homes, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Oversee system setup before clinical use, including system configuration.
  • Conduct pre-procedural equipment checks to ensure systems are operational before Cordella implant procedures.

2. Preventive Maintenance and System Health

  • Perform preventive maintenance to optimize performance and prevent downtime.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and on-site support to resolve any system-related issues promptly.
  • Manage and deploy software and firmware updates, ensuring compatibility and system efficiency.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration and Reporting

  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Specialists, and Quality teams to report system performance data, identify trends, and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed documentation on system performance, error resolution, and user feedback to help refine product features and technical protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to facilitate system enhancements based on field feedback.

What you’ll need:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience as a field engineer, preferably with medical devices or health technology systems.
    • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex systems in a healthcare or clinical environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Deep knowledge of medical devices, system integrations, and technical protocols.
    • Hands-on experience with clinical equipment, including calibration, setup, and troubleshooting.
    • Proficient in software troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and firmware updates.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective technical documentation and customer interaction.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Abilities:
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Capable of data analysis for system performance and creating actionable reports for improvements.
  • Travel:
    • Willing to travel extensively across Europe to hospital sites and patient homes, with a flexible schedule for support during system failure events.
