Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Silverstone, Northamptonshire (field based)

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Permanent Role

Our client is one of the UK’s leading companies in the sales and distribution of drinks and beverages equipment to the juice, cider, wine, and beer markets. The company has experienced significant growth, and we are seeking a full-time, experienced Service Engineer to join our expanding field service team.

Based in Silverstone, Northamptonshire, the role involves: completing field installations, maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical food processing and beverage equipment, and providing ongoing service support to our customers. The successful candidate will need to:

  1. Work as part of the service team to provide on-site installation and technical support for customer equipment.
  2. Respond to breakdown calls and perform planned maintenance.
  3. Ensure all electrical fittings and wiring meet safety standards.
  4. Inspect electrical components and ensure compliance with procedures.
  5. Complete final tests on all work, addressing any faults identified.
  6. Interact professionally, courteously, and competently with customers, suppliers, and colleagues in both verbal and written communications.
  7. Accurately record and report all activities using the relevant documents provided by customers and the company.
  8. Manage company vehicle, tools, and stock responsibly.
  9. Respond positively to performance data to continually improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  10. Prepare and write customer visit reports for internal and external use, utilizing company software systems.
  11. Comply fully with industry and company Health & Safety policies.

Qualifications & Experience

Potential candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and be proficient in fault diagnosis across a range of food industry electromechanical equipment.

  • Proven track record of maintaining electromechanical equipment in the food and/or beverage industry.
  • HNC/HND or similar engineering qualification with an electrical bias.
  • Clean driving license, with a maximum of 3 points accepted.
  • Forklift License is desirable but not essential; training can be provided.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in a field service role dealing with demanding customers.
