A leading distributor of compressed air equipment is looking for a Field Service Engineer who will be responsible for diagnosing equipment faults and providing exceptional aftermarket services. The role involves servicing a diverse product portfolio and reporting directly to the Service Manager. Candidates should have an HND or HNC in engineering and strong communication and decision-making skills. Were looking for a Field Service Engineer able to diagnose and solve equipment faults, to join a specialist distributor of compressed air equipment.

As a Field Service Engineer, youll be responsible for providing the service department with aftermarket services and support on all equipment within the companys varied product portfolio that includes:

Piston compressors | Rotary Screw air compressors | Rotary vane air compressors | Rotary Screw vacuum pumps | Refrigerated compressed air dryers | Heated and non-heated desiccant dryers | Filters | Condensate Drains | Chillers | Breathing Air Units | Nitrogen Generators

This role includes a commercial company car and mobile phone as part of the package.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis, and the commissioning of new equipment
  • Reporting to the Service Manager and liaising with the service coordinators
  • Manage and utilising the company software system
  • Communicating customer requirements back to the service coordinators
  • Communicating any changes in site circumstances or changes to site equipment back to the service coordinators
  • Identifying spare parts requirement on site including part numbers and reporting back to the service coordinators
  • Referring complaints of service or product failure to service coordinators for investigation by the Contract Manager
  • Communicating solutions, successes, and opportunities to the Service Manager
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and be able to work to risk and method statements

Skills & Experience

  • HND/HNC in an engineering discipline.
  • Must be able to diagnose and solve equipment faults

  • Good decision-making, communication, and IT skills
  • Should have sound practical judgment of priorities
