Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited invites applications for a Field Service Engineer to join the Grid Automation Team. You will travel nationwide across the United Kingdom to service customers and ensure on-site performance meets expectations.

As part of an on-call rota, you will deliver emergency support, document activities, and apply rigorous safety, quality and environmental standards while collaborating with a dynamic engineering team delivering innovative power grid solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the industry with nationwide site work.
• Knowledge of SCADA & RTU’s.
• Basic knowledge of power transmission and distribution protection solutions.
• Customer focus and fluent in spoken and written English.
• Working knowledge of IEC61850.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems, maintenance and fixes.
• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues evaluating technical requirements and queries.
• Assist Sales & Tendering with customer/site-specific experience and knowledge.
• Prepare technical & test specifications and test reports.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies.
• Help maintain customer spares and standby systems.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for onsite work activities.
• Ensure conformity to Hitachi Energy Electrical Safety Management System.
• Understand environmental risks associated with the business unit.

At Hitachi Energy, an exciting opportunity awaits to join the Grid Automation Team as a Field Service Engineer. This role involves contributing to the advancement of power grid technology, impacting the world of power grids positively.

The position entails traveling to various sites across the United Kingdom to engage with customers, ensuring the maintenance or surpassing of their service expectations. As part of the role, you will be on an ‘on call Rota’ to deliver emergency call-out services to existing customers, fostering a dynamic environment within a supportive engineering team committed to offering innovative solutions to our valued customers.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems, maintenance and fixes.

• Working Knowledge of communication networks.
