Job summary

Pioneer Selection is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our client’s team in the South East of England. You will travel to customer sites to service and repair automated conveyor systems, read electrical drawings, and perform fault finding and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with conveyors, a recognised electrical qualification, and a full UK driving licence. Ongoing training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

  • Must have proven experience as Field Service or Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
  • Hands-on experience with conveyor systems is essential.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical control systems.
  • Experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Experience with conveyors, automated material handling, or production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical fault finding, servicing, maintenance and breakdown repairs across customer sites.
  • Installations and preventive maintenance on automated conveyor and material handling equipment.
  • Travel to and work at customer sites, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: South East of England | Salary: £58,000 - £62,000 | Shift: Panama Days And Nights

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer with an electrical bias to join a well-established and growing business. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working independently, travelling to customer sites, and providing first-class service on a variety of automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment.

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical fault finding, servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and installations across customer sites, ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Field Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
  • Hands‑on experience working on conveyor systems is essential.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience carrying out planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).

  • Mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
  • Experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
