Field Service Engineer (Maintenance / Industrial Laundry)

Edinburgh : Covering Scotland

Due to continued sales growth, a Field Service Engineer is required to join the team of a market leading manufacturer and service provider of commercial and industrial laundry equipment. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable company who truly values and celebrates their team whilst offering job security.

The successful field service engineer will have electromechanical skills. This role would suit an experienced field service engineer or a maintenance engineer looking to be mobile; full product training is provided. You will ideally be commercially gas qualified; however, for the right person, this is something the company will provide.

The successful candidate will attend reactive breakdowns and provide routine maintenance to commercial and industrial laundry equipment at customer sites, working to a First Time Fix target upwards of 85.

You will work remotely most of the time and will be required to be on callout standby 09:00 : 17:00 one in four weekends.

The Field Service Engineer Role

  1. Carrying out electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance on a full range of commercial and industrial laundry equipment.
  2. Time split between working within a 1 : 1.5 hours radius from your home, averaging 3 to 4 jobs per day for commercial work and working within the UK for industrial work as required.
  3. Overnight stays will sometimes be required for industrial work. Hotels and sustenance will be provided.
  4. Working on laundry equipment in care homes, hotels, charities, gyms, hospitals, factories, and prisons.

The Field Service Engineer Candidate
  1. Electromechanical background, ideally from a laundry, manufacturing or plant machinery background.
  2. Hydraulics experience advantageous, but training will be offered.
  3. Electrical competence including 3 phase systems, motor testing, control circuitry testing, PLC fault finding, dead testing, and safe isolation.
  4. Able to work efficiently to rectify breakdowns and to work accurately to PPM schedules.
  5. Travel and overnight accommodation will be required to meet customer needs for industrial servicing.
