Job description
Overview

Field Service Engineer position with Kingspan Light, Air + Water. You will deliver exceptional service, leveraging technical expertise and communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to safety standards and company procedures. You will attend customer premises to conduct service, repair, commissioning and inspections for wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, oil interceptors and rainwater harvesting systems. This role involves field work, troubleshooting, and ongoing training in a growth‑oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Confined Space Entry for internal inspections and repairs.
  • Diagnose faults to repair or replace equipment with emphasis on first‑time, first‑fix (FTFF) to provide customers peace of mind.
  • Communicate issues, problems and solutions through escalation points.
  • predominantly lone working; liaise with customers on site and keep them informed of ETA and any delays.
  • Carry out a visual risk assessment on each job and raise any concerns with the line manager.
  • Provide feedback on parts used in line with procedures and ensure parts are prepaid when dealing with end‑users.
  • Deliver good customer service at all times and discuss recommendations onsite including service plans and upgrade options, noting these in your report.
  • Carry out monthly stock takes on van stock or stock stored at lockups.
  • Carry out on‑the‑job training and partake in personal training courses as required.
  • Maintain on‑site liaison with customers and notify of any issues/updates; involve the office for additional unforeseen costs as needed.
  • Ensure all company property and vehicles are maintained in line with company policy.
Essential Criteria
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and PDA software.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Familiarity with the wastewater industry, including sewage systems.
  • Proven experience working with Sewage Treatment/Pump Stations.
