A leading scientific instrument manufacturer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site service and support for equipment in the Reading area. The ideal candidate will hold an HND in a relevant field and will have experience with analytical techniques and instrumentation. Responsibilities include performing repairs, user training, and maintaining inventory standards. Applicants must have a valid driving license and be eligible to work in Ireland.

Job description

CK Group are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer, on behalf of an industry leading manufacturer of Scientific Instruments, on a permanent basis.

The main product groups that will be supported are Inorganic (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AA). Experience in the above product lines or Chromatography (GC/LC) and Material Characterisation (FTIR, UV/Vis and Thermal) would be an advantage.

This position is Field Based M4 Corridor position, and the successful candidate will be based in the Reading, Oxford, or Banbury areas as preferred.

About the role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform field service as advised by the call dispatch staff/system in conjunction with the Team Leader, carrying our repairs, preventative maintenance, qualifications, and installation.
  • Provide onsite user training on defined product groups
  • Maintains personal service spares issued and inventory records to the highest standard
  • Able to promote/sell instruments and service products including consumables and service contracts
About you:

To be considered for the role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Science, Biotechnology or similar discipline.
  • An understanding of analytical techniques and instrumentation as well awareness of instrument applications a benefit.
  • Experience in the above product lines or Inorganic (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AA) would be an advantage
  • Experience of working in GMP environments preferred
  • Full Driving License.
