The company:

This is an opportunity to join one of the world's leading names in power generation and industrial equipment. Their products are trusted across a wide range of industries - from construction sites and infrastructure projects to major sporting events and critical facilities such as hospitals and utilities. The company is growing its UK operation and investing heavily in its field engineering team, offering outstanding training and long-term career prospects.

The role:

As a Power Generation Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of equipment including large diesel generators, dewatering pumps, lighting towers, compressors, and heavy plant used on construction and industrial sites. The work is primarily reactive (currently around 70% breakdowns), with your schedule managed by an in-house planner - typically one job per day to allow for quality-focused service.

This is a pure field-based role with no weekend on-call requirement and excellent earning potential through overtime.

Requirements:

  • Background working with large diesel generators, heavy plant, construction machinery, compressors, or similar
  • Previous field service experience
  • Recognised engineering qualifications (C&G, NVQ, or HNC in a relevant discipline or time served)
  • Comfortable working autonomously in the field, with a flexible and customer-focused attitude
  • Based around Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, or surrounding areas
