Job summary

Bolt Technical is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for the North East region, including Newcastle. The role offers £45,000 base salary with OTE around £65,000 and a company vehicle, with Monday–Friday hours and optional overtime.

You’ll service food processing equipment across a regional caller base, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance while building strong customer relationships. A driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified multi-skilled engineer with FMCG or food production experience.
• Electro-mechanical background (apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control.
• Experience with PLCs and Ladder Logic is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging machinery.
• Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably at all times.
• Provide on-site support and technical expertise to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of service, maintenance, and repairs.
• Work autonomously across a regional customer base while collaborating with the wider technical team.

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: North East Region - Newcastle & surrounding

Salary: £45,000 per annum + Door to Door Pay + Overtime and Enhancements - OTE of c£65,000 per annum + Company Car

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm + Optional Overtime - no weekend work or night shifts.

Bolt Technical are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global FMCG business, for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to join its growing field service engineering team of 30 in the UK.

You'll play a key role in delivering technical excellence and ensuring that equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction are consistently upheld.

Enjoy a Monday-Friday working pattern with regionally focused assignments, meaning minimal nights away from home.

Key Responsibilities
