Job summary

ATA Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the onsite services team. You will service, repair, install and commission Fluid Power systems and components, with a focus on hydraulic and mechanical assemblies across customer sites.

The role is based in Exeter/Devon/Somerset/Cornwall, with occasional travel and a Monday–Friday days shift. The package includes a company van, overtime, a strong pension, excellent training and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Installation experience and mechanical strip-down/rebuild skills.
• Pipefitting, pipe bending and basic electric awareness.
• Proactive, independent worker with willingness to learn.
• Willing to travel/away from home occasionally.
• Open to ongoing training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, installation and commissioning of Fluid Power systems and components.
• Repairs, service, installation and commissioning of Hydraulic, Mechanical & related Fluid Power components.
• Carry out testing to ensure accurate fault diagnosis and correct installation/functionality.
• Coordinate with the Project Management Team and Site Services & Installations Manager to plan and deliver site works.

Salary - £40,000 to £42,000 + OT

The Company

A reputable and thriving company that design, manufacture, install and service fluid power systems and components for clients across Aerospace, Automotive and Manufacturing. They have continued to grow and evolve and have expand to supply to other sectors, therefore seen as a market leader within their industry. Additionally, they have made huge investment in their infrastructure and systems to have the most up to date technology that means that their customer benefit from a more streamlined process. They offers fantastic training opportunities for their Onsite Service Team including yearly budget allocations for development, detailed training and Health & Safety Training.

With over 50years in operation, maintaining their high standards of production and continuously investing in along with significant growth and a healthy growing order book and turnover, they are looking to add to their Onsite Services Team and therefore have an opportunity for a Field Service Engineer (FSE), who is looking to make an instant impact on a site and contribute to the growth of the business through hard work, commitment and dedication.

The Role

As the Field Service Engineer, you are the front line of the installation and maintenance function and therefore you will offer excellent customer service, positive attitude, professional ethics and high levels of support to both customers and internal team members.

Other responsibilities will include, but not limiting to;

• Service, repair, installation and commissioning of the full range of Fluid Power systems and components, in line with company procedures and policy.
• Repairs, service, installation and commissioning of Hydraulic, Mechanical & related Fluid Power components and systems.
• Carry out testing to ensure accurate fault diagnosis and correct installation/functionality.
• Coordinate with the Project Management Team and Site Services & Installations Manager, in order to ensure effective planning, organisation and delivery of all site works/services.

What They're Looking For

The ideal Field Service Engineer will have:

• Hands-on experience working on mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Installation experience and mechanical strip-down and rebuild skills
• Pipefitting, pipe bending and basic electric awareness
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
• Flexible and able to work away occasionally
• A willingness to learn and develop through ongoing training

The business is happy to consider experienced engineers, maintenance engineers with strong hydraulic systems or Fluidpower exposure
