Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of our well established client in the North West a Field Service Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our growing team, specialising in the service, repair, and upkeep of company-owned forklift trucks and material handling equipment. This role involves working across various company sites to ensure our fleet remains safe, compliant, and operationally efficient. Due to the geographical position of the sites, overnight stays will sometimes be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on forklift trucks.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Complete service documentation and maintenance logs accurately.
  • Liaise with internal teams to schedule and prioritise maintenance work.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and service van to a high standard.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working on forklift trucks or similar material handling equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
  • Self-motivated with good time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ, C&G or equivalent) in engineering or mechanics are preferred.
