Our client is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their machine tool automation company based in Milton Keynes. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be mainly field-based, working in the UK and Ireland. Some overnight stays are likely, so please only apply if you are willing and able to travel.

Our client is one of the UK’s leading firms providing automation solutions to engineering companies. Their products include barfeeding and robotic automation equipment, along with other precision engineering solutions.

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will interact directly with customers and colleagues, requiring confidence and excellent communication skills. A thorough training program will be provided on the installation and servicing of all company products before fieldwork begins.

The successful Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Installation, fault finding, and repair of the full range of company products
  2. Training customers to use company products
  3. Providing quality customer support
  4. Assisting customers and Service Team members with technical issues, via phone or face-to-face
  5. Completing accurate records of visits using service sheets, time logs, and vehicle logs

About you

The ideal candidate should have / be:

  • An interest in mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment
  • The ability to manage physically demanding work
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A flexible approach to working hours and willingness for overnight stays
  • A systematic and logical approach to tasks and problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Commitment to working safely and maintaining a clean, tidy work environment
  • Good time management skills
  • IT literacy
  • Clean UK driving license and over 25 years old (for van insurance)

Hours & Rewards
