Field Service Engineer

Berkshire & Greater London

GBP45,000 + Overtime at Standard Rate 45 Hours per Week

NEOS Engineering are partnered with a well-established plant hire and machinery services provider in the South East, who are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join their team. With a large fleet of over 150 machines, this company operates across multiple sites including their main depot, demo locations, and customer premises.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant machinery, including attachments. Covering mainly Berkshire with some work in London, you will use a long-wheelbase, high-top Volkswagen Crafter van provided by the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Routine maintenance and servicing of plant equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Conducting inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively
  • Maintaining clear and accurate maintenance records
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations

The Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or in a similar role within construction, demolition, or waste recycling
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery such as excavators, loaders, crushers, and screeners
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • A relevant engineering qualification (formal NVQ not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
