A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Field Service Engineer to operate from home and travel daily to customer sites across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating, commissioning, and repairing on-site weighing systems, with a focus on technical accuracy and compliance with health and safety policies. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and a full UK driving license are required. This is a non-graduate position.

Job description

Description:

In your role as a Field Service Engineer, you will be home based travelling to customer sites daily to undertake you work. You will utilise your technical knowledge and experience to calibrate, commission and repair on site weighing systems using the following F1 & M1 test weights, stamped flow meter, force calibration test rigs & multi-function processor. You will also undertake additional training to support the company's range of products including beltweigher and boiler leak detection products, together with the specific calibration disciplines of, temperature, conductivity, PH, pressure & magnet strength.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out pre-scheduled calibrations / breakdowns / commissioning of on-site process weighing systems
  • Calibration of temperature controllers & probes, pressure gauges, PH & conductively probes
  • Installation & calibration of in-line belt weighing systems & boiler leak detection systems
  • Off site repair of scales and balances
  • It is essential that you are motivated driven and prepared to work unaccompanied and under your own initiative
  • Preparation of service call reports, calibration certificates etc. before leaving site
  • All activities you undertake must comply with all HSE policies and procedures
  • On some occasions you will be required to work with or assist another engineer
  • When required you will be expected to stay over-night to undertake site work
  • Any other reasonable duties in support of your role as service engineer

Skills & Experience Required

  • An exceptional ability to understand, evaluate and apply technical information within a timely manner
  • Has solutions and suggestions that are effective in addressing the problem at hand whilst being constrained by tight deadlines.
  • Able to adeptly learn the context of a challenge and quickly integrate new skills
  • Be willing to provide colleagues with the information they need to complete their tasks and eliminate roadblocks
  • Able to define, work within and improve business processes whilst exercising good judgement based on immediate and future business needs.
  • Can be counted on to take personal responsibility in challenging situations and be willing to engage in disputes in order to settle them equitably.
