Overview

Field Service Engineer required in the BA/SN/SP region, covering the South of the UK.

£36,500 basic salary with access to a generous bonus scheme. 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with access to overtime and occasional pre-scheduled weekend work. 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional day for every 5 years of service. Our client, a well-established leader in automated storage solutions, is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join their growing engineering team, covering the South of the UK from the SN/BA/SP postcode region with occasional national travel.

Reporting to the Area Manager, your responsibilities will be to:

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, annual servicing, routine maintenance, and repairs on automated storage systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults independently.
• Support system upgrades, including software updates.
• Assist with the commissioning and installation of new systems at client sites.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
• Provide technical support and product training to clients.
• Complete and submit accurate service reports and documentation promptly.
• Manage travel and schedule efficiently.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of automated storage products and systems.
• Represent our client professionally with a friendly and presentable manner.
• Occasional national and international travel (for training purposes).

Qualifications

• Based in and around the BA/SN/SP postcode regions with a UK driving license and minimal points.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical and general engineering, with strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving skills.
• Engineering qualifications desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and customer-first communication.
