Field Service Engineer

Who will you be working for?

Heliex Power design, manufacture and assemble Steam Screw Expander generator sets for various markets worldwide. We use our patented technology to deliver clean energy from the waste steam of plant owners. From cottage industry artisans to multi-, Heliex Power unlocks the potential of their waste heat and steam - enabling their businesses to prosper and do their bit in saving the planet.

What will I be doing?

The Field Services Engineer will join our European-based service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing commissioning, planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown and repair activities to Heliex Power products located at customers’ premises.

The following provides an overview of key duties to be carried out by the Field Service Technician:

  • Product installation and commissioning.
  • Product in-house and field service maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Customer and distributor training and support.
  • Input to the definition of development and production test procedures.
  • Input to product design, improvement, and cost reduction programmes.
  • Ensure the equipment carried in the service van is in good condition, and ensure the defined inventory of spare parts is maintained and accounted for.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Perform appropriate administrative duties including time sheet completion, parts requisitions and orders, invoicing data and ECN problem note reporting.

To thrive in this role, you will have/be:

  • Time-served electrical or mechanical technician qualified to a minimum of HNC/ONC in relevant engineering subjects, preferably related to rotating equipment or power.
  • Experience of control systems/PLCs.
  • Significant experience in power, steam, compressor, pumps or other relevant industries.
  • Experience driving vans up to 3.5t GVM.
  • Providing the support required to close service events within the SLA and to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Flexibility to work away from home (up to 40 weeks per year across European sites).
  • Exceptional customer facing and communication skills.
  • Able to work accurately, methodically and to complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Good understanding of H&S disciplines.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, by prioritising and effective time management.
  • Computer literate.
  • Clean current driving licence.
  • Current passport.
