Exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer!
As a Field Service Engineer, you will have the distinguished responsibility for the Howden rotating equipment machinery. More particularly, you will engage in mechanical repair, service, installation and commissioning of rotating plant across the customer sites of Howden in the UK primarily and overseas occasionally. This position offers a great opportunity to travel across the UK, focusing on the Midland area (Liverpool, Birmingham, and Manchester), with all travel expenses paid and a travel allowance as a bonus. You will focus on turbomachinery (compressors and steam turbines), fans, and associated equipment. The role is mechanically biased, but electrical experience would be advantageous.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
- Ensure adherence to company environmental, health, and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and minimize environmental impact.
- Traveling on land with our company car from Monday to Thursday and on weekends when necessary (depending on business needs).
- Preparation of Health and Safety risk assessments prior to and during on-site assignments, strictly following Howden and customer Health and Safety policies.
- End-to-end responsibility for routine service, repair, installation, and commissioning of rotating equipment in compliance with company standards and requirements.
- Communicate with clients to control on-site activities and provide technical support related to installation, commissioning, and service/repair.
- Prepare and issue all documentation related to on-site activities, including daily reports, visit reports, site communications, time sheets, and commissioning documents.
- Conduct on-site analysis of machinery and provide condition reports to facilitate additional business through service upgrades or spare parts requirements.
- Interact and respond to all aspects of the business, supporting SHE, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements.
- Frequent travel within the UK and worldwide.

- Essential skills, knowledge & behaviors.
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship.
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience gained through working as a multi-skilled service engineer in a rotating machinery industry.
- Significant experience working in a mechanical environment or industrial sites such as Water Waste, PCOG, and Power Industry preferred.
- Time Management skills.
- Ability to self-manage in remote locations.
